I have read that the name Webb is of Cornish origin. The Celtic version is
Killihoe. The name Webb was first documented in 1066 as webbe from the old
french meaninig " to weave" and was located in Cornwall. The name was
given to shepards and weavers of woolen goods. I am making assummtions here but
it is possible that since killi in the Celtic languages is usually translated as
grove or herd it is possible that Killihoe translates as shepherd. I don't
really know but if anyone could help me with this it would be a great relief to
me. Until then I will assume that I am of Cornish descent. I already know that I
am of celtic descent from Ireland,Scotland, and Wales. Thanks loads. Wonderful
site.
