Just came to get the recipe for Pasties. As a lad I lived with a Cornish family
and remember pasties with nostalgia. Mrs. Start told name that the devil didn't
dare go to Cornwall because he might end up in a pasty because In Cornwall
everything went into them.

Interesting and helpful site. Keep up the good work! (I right clicked on your
illustration of Cornish tartan and used it as desktop wallpaper. A little
overpowering, but good for a temporary change of scene!

I am related to the Dony families of Cornwall. Our people settled in the area of
Honesdale, Pa. and then some moved to a place called Dodgeville,Wisconsin. We
are also related to the Bakers who came from Cornwall to those locations. I
think your site is wonderful!

I'm a new genealogist. Just familiarizing myself with all things Cornish, as
that's where my Bligh family originated. My most recent ancestors were born in
Ramsgate, Kent England. (great grandfather and grandfather) We are supposed to
have moved from Cornwall to Ramsgate. I suspect sometime in the 1850's or so.
Anyway, glad to find your website. I am planning to browse through the whole
place.:):) Thanks, Gerrie

Several years ago we ALMOST got to Cornwall! We had flown into London and were
contemplating taking a train or bus to Cornwall when a lovely English couple sat
down beside us in Victoria Station and told us that if we didn't have
reservations in Cornwall, we'd never find a place tao stay there. They said it
hadn't rained for two months in London (hard to believe!) and everybody had gone
to Cornwall. We switched gears and went to Yorkshire instead, but I have always
regretted not seeing Cornwall. Maybe someday. . .

Cornwall is best kept secret in Europe. Since I was 16, I spent 15 holidays in
Cornwall, and it still are my best memories.Cornwall, I adore you. See you again
in july 1999.

A chance trip to Cornwall led to my discovery of my grandfather's homeland,
history & kin. Iwill never forget the warmth of the people of RedRuth and
Roses Bilitho. I would love to find out how the name Rogers came to be in my
obvious Cornish family. Grandfather was in mining in Australia and at the Empire
in Grass Valley, CA. Anyone related? (Dunstones, Berrymans, Rogers, Eddys)?

If you are in Illogan, Redruth drop into my mums place for tea. (Marie King).
Keep up your good work- even from this distance, Cornwall will always be where
my heart is. Maybe one day I'll join my father on Marazion beach where i spread
his ashes on a cold December day in 96 (when no one was looking). It wasn't sad-
it's what he asked me to do for him because of his love of the place. G'day from
Sydney....PHIL KING
