My surname orignates from Lanyon Quoit and I have always found the Cornish area and history very interesting. My wife and I were able to visit ST Ives and the Quoit in Ocotber of this year and are planning a second trip when we are in England again. We stayed in ST Ives and found it and the people to be very kind and helpful. We also visited Ashford, Southhampton and Bristol visitng friends.

Diana Daley   in Geelong Victoria Australia at 3:59:51 Saturday January 9 99
Enjoying your site, I am what would be called 3/4 Cornish. Have Annear, Opie, and Stephens in the famiy tree. Was I Cornwell 1996 and loved it. Was strang to thenk I was walking where ancestors had. I am in reality on Paternal side three generations from Cornwell. On Maternal four generations. Thay all seemed to heve been involved in minning, some came to South Australia and then moved to Victoria. Others just came. To Margaret Hutton of Canada you can obtain pictorial caladers of Cornwell. I have one for 1997, "A Salmon Calander"Penshurst Series. I have a relative doing family tree but I will keep an eye on this page. Visited the Turo Historical Records Centre mind boggling huge. Keep up the good work we Cornish seem to get lost in the Celtic "parties" the Irish, Scots, and Welsh seem to get most of the publicity, I have all in the gene pool.

Nice site Alan. One point - When I was at school in Cornwall, I learnt the Cornish National Anthem - 'Bro Goth Agan Tasow' or Land of Our Fathers. I Love Trelawney too - but I don't really think it's our national anthem.

Merry Christmas! I found this site while searching for information about the flora along the Cornish coast. Specifically, palm trees where the Gulf stream brushes the British Isles. Can you help? Merely a yea! or nay! and location, if possible. PS. My wife and I were in Cornwall three years ago. After leaving Land's End we stopped for lunck along the north shore; I remember the pint of Sharp's. A very pleasant memory! Ta! Al
