My G. grandfather was Thomas Bromley Tonkin our family origins are located around the Newlyn, Madron and Penzance area's. We also have a Guy line that lived on Scilly Isle. It is a family rumour that my grandads G.G. Aunt Mary Guy was one of the people who moved the lanterns that caused the sinking of many ships. Another family story which has since proved to be true is that many of our family today have what is referred to as the "Black Pigment' in their blood stream due to interbreeding with the sailors from the ships that were sank of Lands End. Has anyone else came across this in their Cornish family history. My earliest know ancestor was was Henry Tonkin who married Sussana Tanner hope someone is researching the same line.

I am interested in anyone researching a Luck family who settled in Leicester from 1803. Their origins were from Staindrop in Durham. My interest is with anyone who maybe related to a convict William Luck who states he was a resident of Barwell, Leicester when he was convicted. His father was Bryan Luck and mother Frances Young.
