Lia in montana, usa at 7:16:53 Saturday January 29 2000
Bravo!!! I love pasty's, Cornish pasty's. No ground beef, no carrots
no peas. Only meat, potatoes, and onions!
My mother, the decendant of Cornish, Irish and Welsh immigrants
was proud of her pasty's. The women in Butte Montana, once the
copper minning capital of the world, sent their men with piping
hot pasty's to the dark cold of the under ground mine. Pasty's
were something warm, something from home. They are still made
in the homes and restaurants of Butte. Made the Cornish way.
Thanks for the validation.

Came across your site by sheer chance (happened to be searching for Rodda's Cream).
I'm Cornish born (Redruth) and bred (Truro) but moved out of the County 36 years ago.
Rarely come South these days, I've only a few family left in Cornwall so websites like yours hopefully will keep me in touch.
I prudly display my Cornish kilt whenever I can up here and it is always a good talking point.

Greetings fellow Cornishmen. My gggrandfather William b.1800 Otterham and my ggrandfather Simon b.1845 Otterham left Cornwall with the rest of the family in April-May 1851 and migrated to Durham County Ontario. My ggranfather Simon came to Clanwilliam in 1879 and had a large family. In the Cornish records they are found as
Pauling, Pawling, Pawlin, etc. Any further info from a shirttail cousin would be appreciated. I travelled through Cornwall in 1998 and had a great time in
Boscastle.

Val Bell in Brisbane Queensland Australia at 22:58:29 Sunday January 2 100
Two years ago I was fortunate enough to travel to Corwall to see the land of my ancestors, had a wonderful time going to St Agnes on the coast and walking the cliffs and paths where I imagined my ancestors walked. We indulged in my first Cornish pastie on Cornish soil, sitting in the main street of Truro. Of course I've had cornish pasties before from a recipe that has come down from my great -grandmother Eliza Croft Moyle who came out here to South Australia in the 1840's.
I wanted to and could have spent my entire time in the family history centre in Truro, but my family dragged me away.Someday I will be back!!
Chris & Amanda Curry in Niagara Falls, Ontario at 1:58:40 Sunday January 2 100
Found when browsing with Cornish inlaws visiting from Redruth. Barbara Hooper was offended by the humor we found at
'er' expense. You should add 'dreckly' to the phrases pages.
