about my family tree which begins in Cornwall. Is Cornwall a county, borough,
state?

I'm a teacher searching the web for info for my 6th grade students who are
studying a variety of other countries. I 'stumbled upon' your site while
investigating recipes. I must admit ignorance: I thought Cornish suggested an
area of Wales. I knew that Cornish miners had been imported to work the silver
mines in Nevada in the 1800s, but not much more. I'm enjoying my accidental
'find.' Thank you!

My g-grandfather William LONG came from St Day, and his wife, Catherine Reid
came from St Cleer. More of the LONG family came from St Day, St Austell, and
some from Manchester. If anyone has these LONGs from the 1800's contact me at:
imahair@bellsouth.net. And the web page was WONDERFUL. Thanks, Billie Ruth

Hello Alan - This is my first visit to your page, and I've enjoyed everything
but the irritating movement at the edges of the screen. Please lose the music
and the scrolling Alan's Place logo. It's very difficult to concentrate while
that's going on. I'm leaving now as I can't bear it. I hope to return and
explore some more, but not now. Arrggh stop the scrolling please!!

Me and my family are crazy about Cornwall - have just come back from 3 days in
Porthleven and 7 in Trebetherick (John Betjeman land). My mother was a Carhart
and I believe there were ancestors called Bonney. I understand Billy the Kid's
surname was Bonney.

My Father came from Redruth in 1924 setted in Chicago. I have been interested in
Cornwall since I was a child. My first trip home was in 1981 and have only
missed three years of going home (home is where the heart is).
