Hello Alan ! My second name is Alan and though I am not a Cornishman , I do share another feature with you ! I am a fellow Marjon who was there during the same time as yourself. I read Zoology with Norman Reece , Botany with Albert Vine and Chemistry with George Cast .My
residential quarters were not the elegant ( by comparison) New quarters ...... now demolished, I understand ,.... but the old and decrepit Hudson Block , the entrance to which was near to the Porter's Lodge. I researched the Marjon site ( having become nostalgic of late ) and have been contacting people who were there at the same time whether or not I knew of them or they knew of me ....... just in case anybody had any archival photographs of the era which they would be prepared to share . Any chance ? Any would be much appreciated and if you have any suggestion as to how a panoramic photograph ( owned by one contact ) might be dealt with to send electronically via the web , we would both be delighted to learn of it. By the way ....... I LOVE Cornwall and spent lots of childhood holidays there and quite a few more recent ones. Hope that justifies this message in your guest book on this site ...even though
Marjons was the backdoor !
Best wishes to you and your extended family.
Pip.

Hello: This is the first time I have seen any Cornish websites. I am not sure
why I am so curious about this at this point in time but there must be a reason.
All of my mum's family were born in Redruth, Cornwall. I know the history
somewhat and I have a Bible given to my great uncle Jim Harvey in 1910. My
brother and I were brought up on pasties, heavy cake and saffron buns. All my
family is gone except my brother who lives in the US. I'm fortunate to have run
across your website. Thanks, Beth Stephens Windsor, ON, Canada.

Greetings to All!
I have been researching my family history and attempting to learn the origin of my surname.
A family journal "BADGE NEWSTREAM" is produced from time to time and is available
to those with the BADGE surname, except those who are using the name as an anglicised version of their e.g. Batge - Badje. There is no connection with families whose surname begins with Badge e.g. Badgeworthy - Badgery to the best of my knowledge; the same applies to Soundex names.
Any information about the surname BADGE will be greatly appreciated.

Wosson!?! I just thought I would spread the word to people that the Cornish do not wish to be seperate to the Brittish Isles as stated by Lisa Simpson on the Simpsons Christmas message on 25th Dec. We wish to be independent as we once was and not to be classed as an English County! How hard can it be for people to understand?

Hello Alan - I empathise with your feelings about Cornwall. I was born and grew up in Perranzabuloe -and it is really in my soul. I tell my kids they have a wonderful heritage too. Good luck with the site hope it grows and grows!! Sheila

Hi Alan, great site, nice to see there are so many sites promoting our Celtic history. I am delving into my Irish past and learning Gaelic, so come on all you Celts start learning your history and rediscover who you are!

Good site, I and my wife Kerenza love living here in Cornwall and could not live any where
else. I have worked on many of our Cornish landmarks as I work in the glazing trade, these include
Eden, Marjons (Devon I know) and other historical buildings as well,
my kids even go to the best school in Cornwall, Trevithick in Camborne. Anyway if
I can be of any help regarding anything Cornwall related feel free to email me.
Bye for now, Chris....

I am looking for information on the Rowetts
of the Tywardreath/St Austell area of
Cornwall, and descendants who came to Aus. Many
settled in Kapunda, South Aus. My object is to
confirm a Family Tree.

Heya... This is an awesome sight. At the moment I am in the middle of researching Cornwall and this sight has helped immensely. If anyone has information on Cornish traditions, folklore, legends, mining etc I would be
grateful if anyone e-mailed any relevant information. Anyone who has information
on Trezise family history please also e-mail. Have a great year
